fish + braids = fishwithbraids

fish + braids = fishwithbraids
the experience of art thrives at the top of the bell curve in a place of speculation (and not consensus), hypotheses (and not conclusions) and belief (not knowledge).
To stay at the top of the bell curve, as Buergel and Noack might say,
the best art must make us not understand,
which corresponds to a state of sustained curiosity that provokes us to change something about ourselves in an effort to understand.

JC Magazine

voted #1 weirdest by the art community.
the City and the Hudson reporter are basically proud to have a "fringe element" in JC,
which i would be very proud of as well.
In this context we understand that the word Weird means different, original, unusual.
or maybe outstanding.
The rockstar photography is by Anthony Saint James, great pix of all artists!

The sleep of doubt, Vincent Zambrano

sept 16 - 28 2010

Vincent Zambrano seeks to re-imagine the work of Francisco de Goya, honoring Spanish culture
with his own Inca interpretation.

His latest photo collage, paintings and video animation was inspired by Goya's etchings,
"the sleep of reason produces monsters" and "nadie se conoce".
Vincent has staged the photo shoots with the costumes and models enacting the scenes.

opening reception with the artist is
sept 16, 7 - 10 pm

alphabet soup

T-DEE detail

T-DEE

E for ERA
July 22 - aug 5th 2010
Alphabet Soup is a group exhibition featuring graffiti artists past and present paying tribute to Rammellzee (www.gothicfuturism.com), a pioneer of the culture who recently passed away. Rammellzee's thought process was one of the many held accountable for taking the thought proc...esses involved in graffiti lettering, and pushing them to new limits through deconstruction and reconstruction of the Roman alphabet, beyond the "formal" styles we are familiar with seeing on a day to day basis.

This show will feature the art of:
