fish + braids = fishwithbraids
the experience of art thrives at the top of the bell curve in a place of speculation (and not consensus), hypotheses (and not conclusions) and belief (not knowledge).
To stay at the top of the bell curve, as Buergel and Noack might say,
the best art must make us not understand,
which corresponds to a state of sustained curiosity that provokes us to change something about ourselves in an effort to understand.

the return of light

after the dark months around the holidays, the 11 rough nights (11 Rauhnaechte) there is a return
of light. The sun rises earlier, the days get longer.
In the new year I have always felt the joy for the increase of light.
With this exhibit we are celebrating at this early time of year

march 6 - 19 2009
opening reception 6 -9 or until..
artists: Uta Brauser, light sculptures and Jersey City's famous Norm Francoeur with his funky creative light
sculptures and installations

the lights here are made of household objects, in this case icecube trays
his "chill-lights"

sponge light

Norm enjoys to use common household items as even these colorful kitchen sponges.
they are lit from behind. This is a standing floor lamp
Here we see the flamingo light, the bendie foam floor lamp, and the wall heart feather piece. The sculpture with neon wires is Uta Brauser's work .

" I like drawing with light", a new feeling to draw with light wire instead of ink.
We have a strap-on brain with illuminated brain curves..
and hats with the drawings in light wire. They have a steady mode and blinking modes.

all portable pieces as hats or bags have a portable battery power pack with the right inverter.
Only a change of batteries is needed every so often.
